I’ve always loved learning about history and in high school, I did a report on medieval instruments. The hurdy gurdy was an instant fascination and then in the my early 20’s, I discovered bands like Eluveitie and Faun that utilize the instrument in their songs and it really solidified it in my consciousness.

Life got busy as I got older and I kind of forgot about it for a really long time. Then came 2020 and all that came with it. Like a lot of people, I got that “I’m going to do the things Ive always wanted to do!” bug. That was also when the TV show The Witcher was released and the hurdy gurdy was thrown back into my memory and it was then I decided to acquire one.

After lots of research, I decided to purchase a Nerdy Gurdy BASIC and I guess the rest is history…
